RAID controller firmware is available upon request only.  Contact Support and provide your DAS solution serial number and your current firmware revision, we will then send you the correct firmware for your model if there is an update available.

How do I determine the IP Address for my SecurStor Astra?


By default, the unit will obtain an IP address from your DHCP server. Use your normal DHCP scope browse tools to locate the Astra ES IP. The full MAC address for each Ethernet Network Interface can be found on a label on the back of the chassis. An example would be: FF-AB-12-AF-33-F3.


How do I provide server reports for my SecurStor Astra to EMD Support?


Technical Support may ask that you provide them with your server reports information and event logs. In that case, please follow these instructions:

1. Connect and login to the web management interface.

2. Click on the top subsystem link on the left pane. underneath "Subsystems")

3. Click the "Save" button located at the bottom of the right pane.

4. Save this file to a network or local drive location.

5. Send this file in reply to your EMD support ticket as requested


How do I mute the buzzer on my SecurStor Astra?


1. Connect and login to the web management interface.

2. Click on the "Enclosures" icon on the left pane.

3. Click on the enclosure which has the buzzer sounding.

4. Select "settings" from the drop down menu next to "buzzer".

5. Uncheck "sound buzzer" and hit submit.

How do I upgrade the firmware on my SecurStor Astra?

Please contact EMD Support with regards to obtaining the latest version of firmware for your SecurStor Astra

To update the firmware from the web management interface:

1. Stop all I/O activity to the storage. If possible, power down the host server(s) attached to the Astra.

2. Click the Subsystem icon in Tree View.

3. Click the Administrative Tools icon underneath the subsystem you wish to perform the upgrade on.

4. Click the "Firmware Update" link. (4th from the bottom)

5. Click the browse button and locate the firmware file you received from EMD Support.

6. Click "Submit".

7. When the download has been completed, click the "Next" button.

8. You will receive a popup message asking you to restart the Astra, click "OK".

9. The Astra will restart. Once the system has finished booting you can power your host server(s) on again.

10. DONE!

How do I set a static IP address on my Astra if I do not have a DHCP server available?

1. Connect via serial cable to the Astra.

2. Login using your administrator credentials. The default are "administrator" and "admin" as login and password.

3. Type 'net' and hit enter to see a list of the port(s) available and their current IP address(es).

4. Type 'help net |more' for a list of the available commands and a list of examples.

5. The follow example sets the management port to an IP address of 192.168.1.10: net -a mod -tmgmt -p1 -s "primaryip=192.168.1.10, primaryipmask=255.255.255.0, gateway=192.168.1.1"

6. You can then type 'net' again to confirm the IP address change has taken place.

7. DONE!
